I am Sugely (soo-heh-lee)
I am a parent, teacher, and leader of multilingual learners with over 15 years of experience
In this space, I share resources and ideas that I have accumulated through my personal and professional experience. More specifically, my experience as an English language learner, educator, leader, and parent. I believe that the importance of learning a language is well-supported when a child’s language development is encouraged, celebrated, and recognised as part of their identity. Sugely Solano
Multilingual parent
As a parent raising multilingual learners, Sugely understands the joys and challenges of nurturing language development and cultural connections. Her journey includes guiding my children on their path to bilingualism and navigating the US school system to ensure their academic success.
A lifelong learner
Sugely considers herself a lifelong English language learner. She migrated to the US at the age of 12. This experience allowed her to learn English as a second language, which she cherished and loves to share.
Professional experience
As the preK-12 Administrator of Multilingual Learners, she leads and advocates for bilingual and English-language learners in the Brandywine School District. She also guided, supported, and advocated for her children in a Spanish dual-language immersion school.
